Project Details

A federation style home rejuvenated with a contemporary exterior colour palette and new feature coach lighting. The strong contrast between the white stucco render, panelled garage door, deep navy woodwork and trims provide a bold and elegant aesthetic to the streetscape.

A similar colour palette was carried through internally allowing this home to exude a timeless look and feel.

Moulded strapping was specified on the entrance wall to compliment the existing timber console table and picture frame the new brushed brass feature wall sconces. The ceiling, decorative rose and feature interior arches were highlighted in a deep navy hue. Decorative chandeliers replaced existing fittings to contribute to achieving a grand entrance.

The formal sitting room adjacent to the entrance features a custom-made 2Pac ‘library’ shelving unit surrounding a gas fireplace to create warmth and ambience to this elegant space.

The Ensuite and Bathroom were renovated entirely with large format porcelain tiles meeting a moulded timber white dado enhancing the deep navy painted walls. Brushed brass tapware fittings were specified throughout with existing hardware replaced to provide a harmonious connection between spaces. The solid timber vanities were repurposed and re-positioned with new hardware and stone benchtops.

An extensive facelift was achieved in the main heart of the home, the kitchen. An obscure set of stairs leading to the formal dining behind the Kitchen were modified to encompass a Butlers Pantry. This was concealed by a swinging white 2Pac door wrapping around into a narrow display drop zone area and tall pantry cupboards. By replacing the laminate benchtops with a navy veined stone and introducing a new farmhouse kitchen sink with feature rangehood brings the entire concept together seamlessly. Green and blue subway tiles provide a colourful statement as well as featuring in the Butler’s Pantry and Laundry.

Along with a modern barn door to conceal the rear hallway and decorative pendant above the family dining table, this entire interior concept represents a mindfully curated and sophisticated interior style.

Client Feedback

"Our Federation style home was in much need of a refresh. Our aim, to breathe new life into it without losing the essence of the original style. Chelsea was recommended to us by Levan Design and was great at providing options and ideas, supporting us in some of our bold colour choices and encouraging us to forge ahead when we weren't totally sure. She was very patient as I changed my mind several times about the choice of tiles! Chelsea listened to our requirements and worked with us to make them a reality. For example, we were keen to retain cabinets and vanities that were in good condition rather than adding to landfill. Chelsea helped us to do this while transforming the existing fittings to a more contemporary look. She had a great team of trades working with her but was equally happy to work with alternatives that we selected. Her experience and love of design meant we were well guided throughout the renovation. And all this during the challenging COVID lockdown period! We love the final result and are glad that we had Chelsea by our side".
